Here are some of the reviews the film received:

“A gripping plunge into dark territory.”

         –Los Angeles Times

“A Single Shot” is a film going experience that you won’t forget.”

   –The Examiner

“Full immersion of the viewer, through tactile visuals, and empathetic characterization, was the goal here; with the question of whether everything/ everyone turned out as they should have, left to the viewer. Whatever answers audience members come up with, A Single Shot (and that question) is likely to stay with them.”

    –FilmBook

“Its portrait of foolishness and fallibility, and its atmosphere of inevitable doom, remain sturdy and captivating, culminating with a finale in a freshly dug grave where fatalism and poetic justice finally meet.”

   –Slant Magazine

“A Single Shot may be a slow burn, but one that expertly draws on the best aspects of country suspense films like Debra Granik’s Winter Bone and Sam Raimi’s A Simple Plan to give us a thriller that is methodically paced and consistent in tone from start to finish.”

    –Paracinema

“A classy backcountry noir in the tradition of “Winter’s Bone” and “A Simple Plan,” the movie never clearly defines its main villains; everyone’s pretty suspicious.”

     –IndieWire

“A Single Shot will bring you the edge of your seat and shock you, making it by far one of the best films screened at Tribeca this year.”

     –Sound on Sight
